University update!

8. Woodland Lever Arch File (Paperchase)
10. Commandments sticky notes - similar
11. Candle holder (market in turkey)
12. Pizza cutter (I can't find it but it's from some sort of pound shop and it's blue)
15. Mini Buddha (similar)
16. Evil eye hanging ornament (a market in turkey)
19. Ceramic bowl (this is from a market in Turkey - similar)
20. Sugar spoons (from same market!)
21. Book poster (I'm not sure where my godmother bought it from but you can buy it here)
22. Mini clock (I'm not sure where my godmother got this either)
23. Mini print (same as above)

They all each told me I had to email them stating the change, then I was told I had to phone and then I even had to post a few letters. It resulted in lots of tea, complaining to my cat and maybe wishing I had never applied to Southamptonin the first place!!

It's mainly all sorted now apart from Student Finance who still say my loan goes to Southampton even though I've sent them a letter and phoned twice!
But hey ho, I'm very very nervous but also a bit excited!

Has anyone else has application issues or Student Finance woes?

Thanks for reading! :)

Mini haul

This is just a little haul with last minute things for Cornwall tomorrow!! I only planned on buying a present bag, then I remembered sun cream then I just couldn't help myself.

I only really got this to go with my new Topshop skirt and I had bought this style before in blue and grey. It's a loose boyfriendy type t-shirt that's good for just slouching or for a simple relaxed look - I like the twisted detail around the top and at only £7.99 I couldn't not add to my growing collection of loose t-shirts!

Star Wars t-shirt

Unfortunately this one isn't for me...however if my boyfriend doesn't like it, I shall be keeping it! I guarantee he will though! I just found this t-shirt highly amusing and a pretty good price for a Star Wars t-shirt (£12.99). To sort of justify this purchase we are going to Cornwall so he may have needed a new t-shirt or maybe to match his new vans...I just really really liked it. At least i'll score a few girlfriend points!
I can't find it on the H&M website but it looks like this

Smart by Kim Slater

There's been a murder, but the police don't care. It was only a homeless man after all. Kieran cares. He's going to find out what really happened. To the homeless man. And to his own grandma, who stopped coming round one day. It's a good job Kieran's a master of observation and knows all the detective tricks of the trade
But being a detective is difficult when you're Kieran Woods. When you're amazing at drawing but terrible at fitting in. And when there are dangerous secrets everywhere, not just outside but under your own roof.

I found this book under the teen section. The front cover and the little drawings inside the cover are ever so beautiful. I picked this book up mainly because the front cover look endearing then I thought perhaps I should read the blurb before I buy it. The story line sounds interesting, it's sort of a tamer, sweeter version of a John Grisham novel, maybe. I'll have to read it and see then I'll do a proper review!!
Another bonus was it's only £8.99 for a hardback edition, woo!!

I only bought two little make up bits as my knowledge is very low, therefore i only stick to the basics. So I picked up some pressed powder from the Natural Collection and Maybelline Great Lash waterproof mascara. I quite like the Natural Collection range as it's an ok price but still good quality and suits my skin which is a big plus!
I also just picked this mascara up as it was waterproof but I am yet to try it out!

I only popped in WH Smiths to look at the magazines and buy drinks for the journey tomorrow, nothing special really. But I'm a bit of home decor addict/weirdo whatever you want to call it. I have three favourites...Good Homes, Living etc and Style at Home. But as I've read both July issues of the other two I had to buy this one (had to!)
The drinks are just Lucozade Caribbean Crush flavour! They are very tasty but all the fizzy ones get too sweet for me after a while.
The rest of my shopping isn't as interesting...but the rest of my purchases were:

I hope you enjoyed this post, I'm trying to get back into blogging again after a year off!
Let me know if you've bought any books recently or have any make up products that will help my clueless self!

Thanks for reading...(if you did read it)

Christmas/January Book Haul

This post is very very late as it is already into February! I've had a lot going on, so as I've finally got some head space I would go back to blogging!
For Christmas I received quite a few books and gift vouchers so these are all my lovely purchases!

Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith

After going through my friend's Wreck This Journal and watching countless YouTube videos, I decided to put this on my list to see what the fuss was about. After flipping through several times, I absolutely love the idea, however I am not one to even crack the spine on a book and would rather keep it in mint condition! So it has been a personal uphill battle to tear pages out but I'll get over it just this once!
I'm quite excited to do the whole book and see the final result!

Poetry First Aid Kit by Abbie Headon

As a lover of poetry, my mum was spot on with this! It's such a beautiful book and I keep it in my bag for a little poetry fix through out the day. Poetry First Aid Kit is a collection of poems chosen by Abbie Headon. They are put into catagories depending on the situation you're in. For example some of the categories are:

  • Everyday Life
  • Student Days
  • Romance
  • Love's Challenges
  • Dealing with People
  • Work and Money
there quite a few more along the same lines! Each category has a little poem for a particular situation within the topic. I love reading it on the bus or just at home. Definitely worth buying!

Quiet  by Susan Cain

At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking, reading to partying; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over brainstorming in teams. Although they are often labeled “quiet,” it is to introverts that we owe many of the great contributions to society–from van Gogh’s sunflowers to the invention of the personal computer.
Passionately argued, impressively researched, and filled with indelible stories of real people, Quiet shows how dramatically we undervalue introverts, and how much we lose in doing so. Taking the reader on a journey from Dale Carnegie’s birthplace to Harvard Business School, from a Tony Robbins seminar to an evangelical megachurch, Susan Cain charts the rise of the Extrovert Ideal in the twentieth century and explores its far-reaching effects. She talks to Asian-American students who feel alienated from the brash, backslapping atmosphere of American schools. She questions the dominant values of American business culture, where forced collaboration can stand in the way of innovation, and where the leadership potential of introverts is often overlooked. And she draws on cutting-edge research in psychology and neuroscience to reveal the surprising differences between extroverts and introverts.
I haven't got round to reading this book yet but it has been on my wish list for quite a while. I think it's a book you have to concentrate on so when I've finished my current books I'll have a read of this!

September favourites!

Sorry it's a bit late, college is taking up all my time!

I absolutely love this product from Nivea as it refreshes my skin but it also feels so clean! As I have really dry skin, it can be hard to find a hydrating face wash that doesn't just dry my face out - especially as we're fast approaching winter. I tend to use it in the shower before I wash my hair as I can just wash it off easily. However, as it is a gel it's very easy to use as a general face wash in the mornings. I bought this product from Superdrug for £3.59 which is pretty cheap for face stuff. I shall definitely be using this all winter!

Nivea refreshing facial wash

I recently went shopping with Louie as he had to get his weekly shop. As he was looking at the range of meats, I wandered over to the tea section and found this lovely box. I've had at least to cups a day in the past week (slightly addicted!). I love cranberry juice and heard it's lovely as tea - M&S came to the rescue! The tea it's quite fruity and refreshing but also very subtle which is rather lovely. Funnily enough it tastes nice hot or cold and is very cheap at only £1. I can't find it online but it would be in most M&S shops.
10/10!!

I've only recently got back into the Arctic Monkeys and what a fabulous time it is! AM is one of my favourite albums this year by far. The album certainly shows how wonderful Alex Turner is. My favourite song definitely has to be 'Do I Wanna Know?' the guitar riff and beat is so good! Arabella is also rather splendid. I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who likes good music!

This book was sort of a hope you feel better present after a really bad week from Louie and it was such a great choice I wondered if he had found my book list. All the reviews I had read compared the writing and story to John Green, so it must be pretty good It's about a boy who went from being popular and have everybody know him to suddenly sitting at the table with people known as 'the misfits'. I haven't quite finished it yet but so far it is wonderful. The book is so wonderfully written and so engaging I can't quite put it down. I would recommend this book to any John Green fans, or fans of chick lit.

Thank you for reading!

Slumping

I've recently started going back to college and it has already worn me out. I'm in my final year and hoping to go to university next year which means I have to work 10 times as hard as I did last year! Having troubles outside of college does not help in the slightest either - so I'm already questioning whether I'll get the grades I need to go to my desired uni. I know that if I work hard I will probably get the grades, I just never have any motivation regarding college. Since starting college, I've gone back into my little slumping state where I'd rather not communicate with anyone or do anything other than stay at home and read. I've found it's so much easier to plan everything and say you're going to things then actually do them!!! On a positive note, it is my last year and I finish in May/June, yay!!
